Understand seats

A “seat” is one slot for one active shop. If you run three locations and want all three on TracsConnect, you’ll pay for three seats.

Your subscription comes with however many seats you signed up for. Every shop you’ve activated uses one of those seats. The Available Seats counter at the top of Manage Shops shows how many you have left.

  • Adding a new shop uses a seat.
  • Deactivating a shop frees the seat — you can reuse it for a different shop or remove it from your subscription.
  • You can’t drop your total seat count below the number of currently active shops. Deactivate a shop first, then drop the seat count.

Your subscription is set to three seats. You’ve activated the downtown shop and the south-side shop, so you’re using two seats and you have one Available Seat. When you open the brand-new west-side shop, you can activate it without buying anything extra — that third seat is already in your subscription.

Add a seat before you try to activate a new shop, or right when the Buy Seat button shows up because you’re at capacity. The button is on the Shop Licenses tab and on Manage Shops when you’re out of seats.
