Services
Services decide what customers can pick when they book online.
Open Scheduling, then go to Services.
How services work
Section titled “How services work”Each online service is linked to a TRACS labor or job item. That item fills in the starting name and duration. You can change the customer-facing name, duration, color, and description directly in TracsConnect — the linked TRACS item stays untouched.
You can also group services into categories like maintenance, tires, inspections, or diagnostics to make the booking page easier to scan.
Add a service category
Section titled “Add a service category”- Click Category.
- Type the category name.
- Click Save.
Use categories when the list of services would otherwise get long and hard to read.
Add a service

- Choose a color if you want one.
- Turn on Enabled for online booking.

Booking rules
Section titled “Booking rules”Each service has its own rules that control how it can be booked.
| Rule | What it does |
|---|---|
| Enabled for online booking | Shows or hides the service from customers. |
| Booking mode | Sets whether this service follows the shop default, auto-confirms, or always requires a request. |
| Waiter allowed | Lets customers wait at the shop while the work is done. |
| Drop-off allowed | Lets customers leave the vehicle and pick it up later. |
| Requires advisor approval | Puts matching bookings on hold for an advisor to review before confirming. |
Required customer information
Section titled “Required customer information”Some services need extra details before your shop can accept the booking. Use Customer info required at booking to require:
- Mileage
- VIN
- License plate
Only turn these on when your advisors genuinely need the information before the appointment. Extra required fields slow customers down and can cause them to abandon the booking.
Descriptions
Section titled “Descriptions”Customer-facing description — text customers see during booking. Use this to explain what the service covers or set expectations.
Internal notes — visible to shop staff only. Use this for prep notes, advisor reminders, or anything customers should not see.
Reorder services
Section titled “Reorder services”Drag services in the list to set the order customers see them. You can also drag services between categories.
Put the services you book most often at the top so customers do not have to scroll.
