Exceptions and notifications
Blocks close off times you do not want bookings to land. Notification messages tell customers what happened after they submit or change a booking request.
Open Scheduling, then go to Exceptions & Notifications.
Blocks and holidays
Section titled “Blocks and holidays”The Blocks & Holidays area shows upcoming blocks for the next 90 days.
Use it for:
- Full closed days
- Holidays
- Internal holds (customers do not see the reason)
- Partial-day blocks (e.g., closing early on Fridays)
Add a block
Section titled “Add a block”- Click Add Block.
- Choose the Block Type.
- Enter a title if you want one (optional).
- Enter a reason.
- Choose the date.
- Add start and end times if the block only covers part of the day.
- Choose whether the block is public only, internal only, or both.
- Turn on Repeats Yearly if this is a holiday that comes back every year. This option is only available for the Holiday block type.
- Click Add Block.
Block types
Section titled “Block types”| Block type | Use it when |
|---|---|
| Closed Day | The shop is closed for the full day. |
| Holiday | The shop is closed for a named holiday. |
| Internal Block | You need time held back for internal use — customers do not see this. |
| Partial Block | Only part of a day should be closed to online booking. |
Edit or delete a block
Section titled “Edit or delete a block”Find the block in the list. Click the pencil icon to edit it or the trash icon to remove it.
Notification messages
Section titled “Notification messages”When customers book, change, or cancel, TracsConnect sends them one of four messages. All four come pre-filled with sensible defaults — you can leave them as-is or personalize them.

| Request Received | A customer submits a booking request that has not been confirmed yet. |
| Appointment Confirmed | A booking is confirmed, either automatically or by an advisor. |
| Appointment Declined | A booking request is turned down. |
| Reschedule Requested | A reschedule is proposed or applied. |
Each message supports these placeholders, which fill in automatically:

Edit a message
Section titled “Edit a message”- Read through each message.
- Click any placeholder chip to insert it at the cursor position.
- Keep messages short — one or two sentences is enough.
- Save the change.
