Customer sign-in and verification
Customers sign in to the portal with their phone number. There’s no password — they get a one-time code by text instead.
How it works
Section titled “How it works”- The customer opens the portal and taps Sign In.
- They enter their phone number and tap Continue.
- TracsConnect looks up their records. If more than one account is on file for that number, they pick the right one from a list.
- A six-digit verification code goes to their phone by text.
- The customer enters the code and taps Verify Code.
- They land on their dashboard.
The resend option appears after 60 seconds if the code doesn’t arrive.
Common questions
Section titled “Common questions”| Customer question | What to tell them |
|---|---|
| ”Why do I need a code?" | "It confirms that whoever’s opening the portal actually has your phone — no password to forget." |
| "I’m not getting the code.” | Ask them to confirm the phone number they entered, wait about a minute, then use the resend option on screen. |
| ”It found the wrong account.” | Another record at your shop may share that number — a family member, fleet account, or a typo from a past visit. Have them choose the correct name from the list, or update the records in TRACS. |
If verification fails
Section titled “If verification fails”Have the customer go back to the portal link, re-enter their phone number, and request a new code. Codes expire, so a fresh request is faster than troubleshooting an old one.
