WIP Aging answers: Which open work orders have been sitting too long?

What it shows

The top KPIs give you the overview:

• Total open work orders and total WIP value.
• Average cycle time (based on invoiced work orders from the last 90 days).
• At-risk count and value — work orders open 4 or more days.

Below the KPIs, a chart and table break work orders into aging buckets with severity labels: On Track, Watch, At Risk, and Critical.

Each open work order also appears in the detail table with customer name, vehicle, amount, days open, and status — either In Progress (work is being done) or Ready to Invoice (work is done but not yet billed).

Where the numbers come from

WIP Aging is a live view — it shows what is open right now, not what happened over a date range. The only adjustable setting is the max-age cap, which lets you hide very old work orders if you need to focus on recent activity.

How to use it

Pull this up in your morning huddle. Start with the oldest and highest-value buckets, then assign a next action for each stalled repair order. The Ready to Invoice count is a quick check for money that should already be collected.

Why it may look wrong

• A work order is still open in TRACS even though the vehicle already left.
• A work order was invoiced recently and has not refreshed yet.
• The shop selector includes or excludes a location unexpectedly.
• The max-age cap is hiding older work orders.
