Permission audit basics
The Permission Audit page is the running log of every permission change made in your TracsConnect account. Owners use it to make sure access is going where it should — and to catch anything that wasn’t supposed to happen.
The Permission Audit is owner-only by default. Admins don’t see it unless you turn it on for them.
What the log captures
Section titled “What the log captures”Every entry shows who made the change, what their role was at the time, whose permissions were changed, what role that person was on, when the change happened, and which specific permission switches flipped from on to off or off to on. You can scan it like a register tape — newest at the top.
When to take a look
Section titled “When to take a look”- After you promote a Service Advisor to Manager — confirm the new switches are what you expected.
- When a staff member says a page suddenly appeared or disappeared from their dashboard.
- During a monthly access review, just to keep things tidy.
- After someone leaves the team — make sure no one inherited their permissions on the way out.
If something looks wrong
Section titled “If something looks wrong”Open the affected person’s account, check their role and custom permission switches, and put them back the way they should be. If you don’t recognize the change at all — and especially if you didn’t make it yourself — note the person’s name and roughly when the change happened, and contact support.
