Connect to TracsConnect
Connecting Twilio takes about five minutes once you have your Twilio credentials.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”You should have:
- A Twilio account with a text-capable sender
- Your Account SID from Twilio Console
- An API Key SID and API Key Secret, or your Auth Token
- The sender phone number customers should see, such as +15551234567
- Your Messaging Service SID, if your shop uses one
Step 1: Gather your Twilio credentials
Section titled “Step 1: Gather your Twilio credentials”Sign in to Twilio Console and copy your Account SID.
For production use, create an API key in Twilio and copy the API Key SID and API Key Secret. Twilio only shows the secret when you create the key, so keep it somewhere safe until setup is complete.
If your shop is not using API keys yet, TracsConnect can also use the account Auth Token.
Step 2: Open Twilio in TracsConnect
Section titled “Step 2: Open Twilio in TracsConnect”Sign in to your dashboard, click Integrations in the sidebar, and find the Twilio card.
Click Setup. A setup window opens.
Step 3: Choose the sign-in method
Section titled “Step 3: Choose the sign-in method”Choose API Key unless your rollout specifically tells you to use Auth Token.
Paste your Account SID and the matching Twilio secret fields. TracsConnect stores secret values securely and masks them after saving.
Step 4: Add your sender
Section titled “Step 4: Add your sender”Enter the sender phone number in full format, such as +15551234567.
If your shop uses a Twilio Messaging Service, paste the Messaging Service SID. Otherwise, leave that optional field blank.
Step 5: Test the connection
Section titled “Step 5: Test the connection”Click Test connection. TracsConnect confirms that the Twilio credentials can be used.
If you see a red error, jump to Troubleshoot.
Step 6: Save
Section titled “Step 6: Save”Click Save at the bottom of the setup window.
What happens next
Section titled “What happens next”TracsConnect can use Twilio for configured customer messaging workflows. Send a controlled test to your own phone before letting staff send live customer messages.
