Sales Performance

Sales Performance answers: Are sales and margin improving, and what is driving the change?

  • Gross sales and net sales.
  • Gross profit and margin percentage.
  • Car count and average ticket.
  • Labor, parts, and tire sales.
  • Group by day, week, month, technician, service writer, or category.

The report uses invoiced sales from the selected shops and date range. Gross sales reflect the full amount billed. Net sales reflect what remains after discounts. Technician and service writer views depend on staff assignments being recorded correctly in TRACS.

Use daily or weekly grouping to spot trends. Use category grouping to see whether sales are coming from labor, parts, tires, or another area. Switch to technician or service writer grouping when coaching the team.

  • Discounts make gross sales and net sales differ — if they look close, discounting is low, and if they are far apart, discounting is high.
  • Car count and average ticket are based on invoiced work orders, so estimates or open work orders do not count.
  • Technician or writer assignments may be missing from some work orders.
  • The date range does not match the comparison period you have in mind.
