Caveats and limits
Mailchimp is available in beta. Treat the first sync as a controlled rollout, not a bulk marketing migration.
Important limits
Section titled “Important limits”- Your shop must be included in the Mailchimp beta rollout before setup.
- TracsConnect syncs TRACS customers into one selected Mailchimp audience per shop connection.
- TracsConnect does not create the Mailchimp audience for you.
- New contacts default to Pending opt-in unless you choose Subscribed.
- Choose Subscribed only when your shop has confirmed the customer can receive marketing email.
- TracsConnect does not re-add contacts Mailchimp has marked unsubscribed or cleaned.
- Automatic sync should stay off until a preview and a live run look right.
- A large first sync may queue work in batches instead of finishing immediately.
- Disconnecting Mailchimp stops future sync work, but it does not delete contacts already in Mailchimp.
Rollout advice
Section titled “Rollout advice”- Start with a small sync limit.
- Review Preview counts with your rollout contact.
- Keep Automatic sync off for the first live run.
- Check the Mailchimp audience after the first live run.
- Turn on Automatic sync only after the shop trusts the results.
