Glossary

A scheduled time for a customer to bring a vehicle in. Appointments can come from your online booking page, from an integration like Setmore, or be added by hand in TRACS.

A link between TracsConnect and another tool you use — Setmore, QuickBooks, your phone system, and so on. Setting up a connection usually means signing in to the other tool once, confirming a few settings, and saving.

A piece of information you decide to collect on a form. For Setmore, for example, you’d add Year, Make, and Model fields to your Setmore booking page so customers tell you about their vehicle when they book. TracsConnect uses those fields to match the booking to a vehicle in TRACS — or to create the vehicle if it’s new.

The main TracsConnect website where you see your shop’s information. Lives at app.tracsconnect.com.

Same as connection — a way to make another tool work with TracsConnect. The two words are used interchangeably.

The process of moving information between TracsConnect and another tool. Most syncs happen automatically in the background. For some integrations (like Setmore), there’s also a manual sync button you can press to pull in a specific date range.

A record in TRACS for the work being done on a vehicle. Each appointment usually becomes a work order when the vehicle arrives at the shop.
