3CX
3CX connects your shop phone system to TracsConnect. The integration verifies a 3CX API service principal with the 3CX Configuration API, then gives you TracsConnect values for caller ID lookup, call journaling, chat journaling, and CDR ingestion.
What it supports
Section titled “What it supports”- Caller lookup against TRACS customers from a shop-specific 3CX CRM template
- 3CX-native caller ID in the 3CX client or softphone
- Dashboard caller ID popups with customer, vehicle, and open-work-order context
- Optional Windows workstation toasts for registered Client Monitor stations
- Call and chat journaling from 3CX into TracsConnect
- CDR record ingestion for durable call-history reporting
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”You need access to the 3CX Admin Console and permission to create an API integration. In 3CX, open Integrations > API, create a client application, enable Configuration API access, and save the Client ID plus the one-time API key.
3CX documents this flow in the official Configuration API guide. TracsConnect validates credentials with POST /connect/token and GET /xapi/v1/Defs?$select=Id.
Dashboard setup
Section titled “Dashboard setup”- In TracsConnect Dashboard, open Connections and choose 3CX.
- Enter the 3CX FQDN, Client ID, and Client Secret.
- Choose whether to enable CRM lookup and CDR ingestion.
- Select Test Connection.
- Select Save.
- Download the shop-specific CRM template from Settings > Telephony, upload it in 3CX Settings > CRM > Server side, and paste the generated CRM secret.
- Enable Caller ID Popup and, if wanted, Windows Toasts for the shop.
The CRM and CDR secrets are shown only when they are generated. Store them with the matching 3CX settings. Windows toasts default off until a shop turns them on.
